Not only is Tacx taking FOREVER, but they’re owned by Garmin, who teams with Zwift on other projects. I’m not upgrading from my Tacx, so I’m just going to have to wait, I guess. Makes me mad every time I think about it.

One of the biggest trainer brand out there and still nothing… I’m thinking about changing to Wahoo if it’s stays like this.

Let’s make a list of all the reasons someone might opt to use an indoor trainer on a given day that you didn’t bother considering:
–weather (snow, thunderstorms, high winds….use your imagination)
–rehabbing from surgery, illness, etc and can’t ride outside yet
–work hours on a given day make it impossible to ride outside that day
–busy doing parent stuff on a given day and not enough time in a particular day to ride outside

There are loads of reasons, and believe it or not there are folks that lead more complicated lives than you.

Must be lovely to live somewhere with weather that’s always good, and to work a job where you can always go for a ride while the sun is up, with similarly magical roads that are safe and accessible for people on bikes. I can only imagine being able to keep the fitness I want for the summertime by simply riding outside year round.

Isn’t it easier to just grab your bike and go outside like any sane person would?

Same. But maybe some other manufacturers see the opportunity at hand and do a universal resistance switching software. Best case with customizable steps between gears and the ability to connect to existing electronic shifting as well

I do like the idea of not having to shift through my actual gears except that the gearing is a little different that what I’m used to.
Since the Zwift Cog is basically an adjustable spacer with a cog, I’m guessing for this to work on a wider range of trainers would be a programming upgrade, no?

Wahoo won’t want Zwift to make it work on older Kickrs as they last for years so no need to upgrade as the new ones aren’t much different.
