I was reading DC Rainmaker’s very thorough review and was reminded of that scene from Star Trek: Generations when they launched the Enterprise B on a press tour, but when they actually needed to be the Enterprise, everything of consequence was being installed “on Tuesday”… XD

Like, c’mon y’all… why are you shipping a product to stores when half the features listed on the box aren’t even there, but will be installed “TBD”!? I mean, I guess that’s become somewhat of a norm in the tech industry, but in the immortal words of Adam Jensen, “I didn’t ask for this.”

However, the Ace seems relatively way too expensive, right? I would not want to spend €600 when you can acquire similar products for half that (;

Good enough for Nino Shurter, good enough for me. Sometimes a little surprise, or route anxiety builds character. I ride to get away from all these tech gadgets and screens…

I have a garmin and don’t plan to buy this however i did not read the review that way. The software is not finished and i would never recommend anyone buying an unfinished tech product. But if they properly sort their software some day it might be good if you can live with the average battery life.

Agreed. DCR doesn’t get free stuff or promotional pay, so when he says this thing was an underfeatured brick, I tend to believe him.

Even the Bolt v1 has this and it works for both 11 speed Etap and current gen di2 (those are what my current and last bike had. If you are a 2x system, it will have a small icon for if youre in big or little ring then a cone cluster to show what gear youre in for the back

I’m in the same boat as you are. I buy biggest bike computer (currently on edge 1040) to have some readable map when riding in the mountains. Here we have some mtb stage race with gpx only, you need a really good and readable GPS. Edge 1040 is fine but i could do with an even better display/map quality. It would be interesting to compare offroad map details on garmin vs ace vs state maps.
